A MESSAGE FROM CAROL COLE
I’m Carol Cole, the author of series of crime novels featuring DI Callum MacLean set in the New Forest. Now retired from livestock farming, I am animal free if you discount my husband, and two rescued feral cats, Amber and Opal. I am delighted that Mystery in the New Forest, book four in the DI Callum MacLean series, will be published by Joffe Books in October. The series, as the title suggests, is set in the unique unfenced ancient hunting ground in the south of England where ponies run free — a challenge for a tech-dependent Glasgow city policeman who is frightened of horses. With watercolour painting as his hobby, the pull of the landscape works its magic on the detective. But a dead photographer with a bullet in his chest provides a mystery for MacLean to solve.
My ‘to be read’ stack of books is toweringly tall, but top of the pile is The Resistance Girls by Alice G May, Broken Country by Claire Leslie Hall, recommended by a friend, and my constant companions of forensic and crime related reference books.
