A Q&A WITH LILY PARKER

A little intro to yourself:

Hello! My name is Lily Parker and I have a few goals each time I sit down to write a book: 1) Give you, my readers, a really good time; 2) Make your stomach flip and flop with the characters because their stories are wildly relatable; 3) Transport you straight into the setting of the story from the very first page.

When I started The Best Wrong Move, I wanted to write a main character that many women could relate to—one who is ready to sluff off the confines of perfection in order to truly enjoy this one beautiful life we’ve all been given. I see quite a bit of myself in the main character, Olivia, and I think (and hope!) that you might, too.

Publishing my debut series with Choc Lit has been a dream come true, and seeing The Best Wrong Move out in the wild is just the beginning. I look forward to sharing two more books in this series soon after The Best Wrong Move officially releases on April 24.

 1.   How would you describe THE BEST WRONG MOVE in 3 words?

Heartfelt, spicy and unforgettable.

 2.   What is your favourite book trope?

I am a huge sucker for second-chance romance. There is something so sweet about exploring a possible connection with the one who got away when the timing just wasn’t right.

3.   Who is your top book boyfriend?

Honestly? Since I create my own book boyfriends, I fall for every man I write. Dom will always have a special place in my heart as the ultimate dreamboat—one who’s able to surf, cook and protect Olivia while still pinning her up against a wall. I really can’t ask for more than that.

 4.   If you could have anyone play the THE BEST WRONG MOVE main characters in a movie who would you choose?

I love this question. For Dom, it would have to be a younger Jason Momoa (That smirk! Those eyes! The muscles!) but with shorter hair, and of course, dripping wet half the movie. For Olivia, I might choose Lily Collins. She would have the sweetest combination of humour, awkwardness, quirkiness, and beauty while keeping her fiercely independent nature and adding a side of wit.

 5.   What can you tell us about the upcoming series?

I’d tell you that if you’re looking for an instant page-turner that will hook you from the first couple of lines, then look no further. When I read a book, I want it to suck me in from the first page, so that’s my goal when sitting down to write my own.

It’s also worth adding that every person who read Olivia’s story in The Best Wrong Move begged me to give her best friend, Abby, her own love story. Deep down, I knew they were right, so I paused working on my original book two in order to write Abby’s story to release next.

Book two in the series, The Best Worst Mistake (releasing July 2!), tells Abby’s story. She’s a hard-working New York City attorney who finds herself unable to commit to the guy she fell for back in law school — even though she realizes that the feelings she used to have for him never truly went away, even after six years.

I so hope you enjoy diving into The Best Wrong Move

 All my love.
