A Q&A WITH RENITA D'SILVA

1. What inspired you to write The Dream Wedding?

While on holiday in Cornwall, we saw a wedding reception taking place on the beach. Everything looked perfect until a gust of wind blew the arch of flowers almost right onto the wedding cake — a gallant groomsman came to the rescue and righted it just in time . . .

Well, that got me thinking about all the things that could go wrong, turning a dream wedding into a disaster . . .

2. How would you describe The Dream Wedding in three words?

Thrilling. Tense. Twisted.

3. If you could have anyone play The Dream Wedding’s main characters in a film, who would you choose?

Ooh, I wouldn’t care! I would just be glad that it had happened! What an absolute dream to see your book come alive in movie form!

4. How will you celebrate the publication day of The Dream Wedding?

My sister and niece are visiting from India at the moment — a rare gift and the first time one of my relatives from India has been present for pub day so that's a celebration in itself!

5. What are you currently reading?

I am working my way through my fellow Joffe authors — they are amazing, every one and I have to pinch myself every day that I am now one of them — a dream come true!
