A MESSAGE FROM JANE E.JAMES
I’m Jane E. James, a British author of psychological thrillers. I live with my two cats, Hero and Halo, who sometimes appear in my books, as does my hometown of Stamford in Lincolnshire.
Now that Autumn has arrived, I can enjoy cosy log fires (with a cat on my lap), long walks in the countryside, and curl up on the sofa with a twisty book. On that note, I’ll now introduce my latest novel, Before Us, which early reviewers have described as “eerie,” “atmospheric,” and full of “epic twists.”
The idea for Before Us arose from my interest in fascinating houses—in this case, a stunning Georgian townhouse in my hometown—and the people who live and die in them. From there, a story emerged about Lucy and Matt, a couple looking to start over by moving to 13 Rutland Terrace, but something about the house feels off. When Lucy finds out what happened to the couple who lived there before them (Rachel and Adie), she finds herself getting in deeper than she imagined. Unaware of the danger she is putting herself and her family in, how far will she go to learn the truth?
As for me, I’m currently reading Andrea Mara’s No One Saw A Thing. I was hooked from the first chapter.
