A MESSAGE FROM CHARLIE GALLAGHER
I am Charlie Gallagher, a former front line police officer, now a writer working with Joffe Books. Together we have published two previous series and 2026 will see the launch of my brand-new series, with three books just about ready to go.
I’m incredibly excited for readers to see this new series, which is based in the highly secretive and massively overlooked role of source handling. This area of policing has plain clothed officers obtaining key intelligence from informants, often in plain sight. I think it’s a rich arena for highly tense and twisty thrillers — something I sincerely hope to demonstrate!
I live and work on Kent’s south coast. A beautiful little seaside town called Folkestone — just 40 minutes on the high speed from London. My world is writing around two young children, a long-suffering wife, a spaniel who is officially ‘geriatric’ and a tortoise who is asleep until at least March.
On my own Kindle I have just worked my way through Chris Whitaker’s back catalogue, including the incredible ‘All The Colours Of The Dark’ (my book of 2025) and I am just about to scratch my sci-fi-itch with ‘Children Of Time’ by Adrian Tchaikovsky, which has been on my TBR forever!
