Joffe Books acquires Robert Hale crime and general fiction list from The Crowood Press

Joffe Books is delighted to announce its acquisition from The Crowood Press of the Robert Hale crime and general fiction list.  This outstanding list of over 350 titles confirms Joffe Books’ position as one of the UK’s fastest growing publishers. In 5 years since founding  Joffe has established itself as one of the leading publishers of crime fiction in the UK with best-selling authors such as Joy Ellis, Faith Martin, and Helen H. Durrant.

History

Robert Hale started publishing in 1936 and over the course of eighty years built a highly regarded list of fiction and non-fiction titles.

The fiction list included some of the big names of the day, including Jean Plaidy, Harold Robbins and Nicolas Rhea, and Robert Hale also holds the UK print rights to Robert Bloch’s Psycho.

In 2015 The Crowood Press acquired Robert Hale’s publishing assets, including all active fiction titles, and continued to publish in Hale’s acclaimed crime list.

The list currently comprises of some 350+ titles available in print and/or e-book format. It does not include the Black Horse Westerns which will continue under Crowood’s management.
