AN INTRODUCTION FROM SADIE NORMAN
Briefly introduce yourself.
Hi, I'm Sadie and I write the DC Anna McArthur series. I'm a mum of two and I also work full time at a high school, so I have to fit my writing in wherever I can. This is usually in the car when my daughters are at gymnastics practice! However, in the summer, I love writing out in the garden. My books are all set around West Norfolk, where I'm from, and I've always had a keen interest in local history.
When did you know you wanted to become a writer?
I've always loved reading and writing and it's been my dream to be an author since I was a child. I have notebooks and computer files full of stories, plot ideas and character profiles. I decided to really give it a go when I turned thirty, and so far, I'm thrilled with how it's going!
Which book in the Detective Anna McArthur series did you have most fun writing?
I think that would have to be book 3, Murder in the Lake. I love the character of Chase and he's one of my favourites to write. I also really enjoyed setting the story during a cold snap and creating a bitterly frozen and icy landscape to match the emotional storyline.
How are you going to celebrate publication day?
I'm not sure yet. Wherever I am and whatever I'm doing, I know I will be buzzing with excitement all day.
What are you currently reading?
I've got two on the go - How to Kill your Family by Bella Mackie and on audiobook during my commute it's The Kill List by Nadine Matheson.
