Q&A WITH ROBIN MAHLE

A brief introduction:

Having published more than thirty novels, I am best known for my fast-paced style and gritty realism. I am a member of the Sisters In Crime authors organization, and was recently named an Amazon KDP Select All-Star. I grew up in Arizona, where I began my writing career after spending twenty years in the construction industry. Now, I live in Coastal Virginia with my husband and two children, who aren’t really children anymore as they’ve recently entered university. When I’m not writing, you’ll find me at the beach with my Kindle, or catching up on any and all detective shows. I don’t care which one. I love them all!

My writing journey so far:

When I began writing my first novel more than ten years ago, I had to fit it into my schedule between a full-time job and raising two young children. After finding some early success, I took a leap and quit my day job, perhaps against the age-old adage of never doing such a thing! But in the end, it paid off. I’ve also adapted a couple of my novels into teleplays, having placed in a few national screenwriting contests as a result. Now, I choose to continue to write in the mystery/thriller genre, but have also taken to historical fiction, having written a Gold-Rush era western published under my pen name, Christine Chase. My journey continues as I look forward to the publication of The Chef, a novel written in a new style for me. I’m excited to see where all this goes.

What I am reading at the moment:

Currently, I’m listening to The Teacher by Freida McFadden, and I’m reading The Truth About the Devlins by Lisa Scottoline. Two authors with very different styles, but I love them both!
